About Us

Tanner Jacobs Consulting was started by myself, Jason Clancy, in October 2003. The name Tanner Jacob comes from my son. I could not come up with a cool techie geek name for the business. Plus, the name is a definite motivation tool.

After spending 15 years in the Information Technology industry in a variety of environments, I felt my skills were best served helping everyone embrace and utilize technology to better their lives in homes and businesses.

My background begins with earning a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science. It continues with 12+ years of hands-on experience in a variety of environments.

I have spent time providing IT services in corporate environments that include, but are not limited to, manufacturing, accounting, and retail. During my time spent working for others in a corporate setting, I spent time helping others outside of the office in an effort to further build my skillset.

The last 7+ years have been spent providing consulting services in the Northern Illinois/Southern Wisconsin, Chicagoland region. After honing my consulting and people skills with other firms and spending a year helping one company completely redesign its IT infrastructure, I went out on my own.

I am willing to work in any type of environment. I have the ability to learn about and adapt to any type of scenario and become a viable source of support and development. If I feel I can't help personally, I can get the right person in place that can make a positive impact in your environment.
